Holiday

I’m really excited. I booked my Holiday this past week. I’m going to NEW YORK at the end of September!!!

I went last year, and I had a ball, but this year I am going back with my best friend, and I know we’ll have a great time!I’ve been reading all my guidebooks and deciding what I’d like to do this year that I didn’t do last year:

  • Walk accross the Brooklyn Bridge
  • Take a trip on the Staten Island Ferry
  • Go to the top of the Empire State building at night

I went on the London Eye in the dark and seeing the city lit up at night was amazing! I can’t wait to go to NYC!

I am kind of dissapointed at one thing though. I called up to try and get tickets for the Conan O’Brien Show, but they’re booked out until the end of October. That’s a much longer lead-in that I had been led to beleive by other internet sites. Still, we’re going to try for standby tickets.

if You have any suggestions of other stuff I can do, please add to the comments.

New PC at Work

I got a new PC at work. I’ve been working on one that’s a few years old that, while adequate, was really past its best. They’re rolling out new XP machines at work and I’m the test subject. It thrills my geeky heart to be able to organise things and set stuff up the way I like it. I’m really fortunate in that at work. I get the basic PC with the basic apps installed, and can then organise everything else the way I like it. Fab!

Separated at Birth

I go to the cinema about once a week, which means I can also watch stuff that isn’t a big blockbuster, or that I wouldn’t otherwise necessarily see. So this week I saw the 25th Hour which I enjoyed enough to still be thinking about it. I was slightly disturbed though, because (and this will mean little to you if you aren’t from the UK) Edward Norton is sporting the Noel Edmonds beard and bouffon hairdo. see for yourself (these were the best pictures I could find).

My Newest Toy

It was my birthday recently, so I treated my self to a Samsung T100 mobile phone. I’ve had an a300 for the past year, and I really like it. I like the way it is layed out and what it lets me do. So once my contract with T-Mobile was Up, I was looking to upgrade. I was on a contract (16 pounds a month for 60 free landline/t-mobile minutes) and wondered about staying with T-mobile. they wanted to charge me 100 pounds for the phone I wanted. No thanks. I went to Mobileshop.com, where I got my MP3 player from, and paid ?9.99 (plus the same amount to port obver my number). My new contract is more (32 pounds) but I get 200 free minutes to any network and 100 free texts, so I reckon it’ll work out nicely!

Moffat Toffee Shop

I can tell some of these blog entries are going to be very random. I haven’t done anything technical today, so here goes. I was visiting in Moffat in southern Scotland today. I went to one of my favourite shops in the world. The Moffat Toffee Shop is a great place, which has almost any kind of sweet (candy) you can imagine. Since it’s Easter Sunday today, I spoiled my self and bought some Toffifee chocolates. I leave the nuts, but love the chocolate-toffe combo.
