American Splendor stars Paul Giamatti.
I’m not sure what to say about this film. It’s good. It didn’t move me greatly, or show me anything or hugely entertain me. It’s an homage to the comics of Harvey Pekar, telling his life story, and that of the comics, with acting interspersed with interviews. It’s interesting, and probably a must for fans of the comic. I’m not going to rate it because any rating would be unfait ofr dishonest.
Google Logos
I rarely see the Google homepage, since I have a google search bar in my Opera browser, but I do know that Google sometimes to special logos for special events. Today I saw a link to an archive of Google logos. They’re pretty cool!
New Project – Randomfact.net
Okay, so I was talking with a friend and came up with a new Idea. randomfact.net will serve a random fact when visited. I just need lots of facts, and to work out how to organise it. Please leave any suggestions in the comments.
Review: The Last Samurai
The Last Samurai stars Tom Cruise and Ken Watanabe. An American army officer learns the ways of the Samurai in the late 1800s.
I have to say in advance that I have something irrational against Tom Cruise. It’s beyond reason, but it’s there. Havin said that I really enjoyed this film. It was well told and, after a few slightly jarring CG scenes towards the beginning, totally sweeps you away with te story. The ending does the movie justice, and doesn’t jar with the spirit and message of the movie. It is quite bloody, but not too gory.

Review: Out of Time
Out of Time stars Denzel Washington and Eva Mendes. Denzel washington is framed for a crime, and, during the investigation, has to steer the other investigators away from himself.
I did like this film – I wasn’t sure for a while, but I did. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good film, but there’s something that doesn’t ring true. It’s a tense drama in places, but then it’s backed with upbeat music. It’s the fine line between breaking the tension and just weirding me out. I kept thinking it should have been in black and white, with someone like Jimmy Stewart in the main role. It was worth the money.

In Britain we have an honours system (by which people get made Knights and Lords etc) and there are a variety of other honours given out at the same time.
Lots of British celebrities get awards of various kinds, but I’ve just found out that Eric Ross, my old school janitor, got an MBE!!!! He totally deserves it.
Sony’s new robot Qrio is definitely going on my christmas list. . . for when I overtake Bill Gates 😀
Save Our Snowmen!
I recently started work at a web development copany, and we’ve just released our Christmas eCard, Save Our Snowmen! It’s been pretty popular. It’s a game and it’s been great fun working on our own stuff rather than having to stick to client requirements. Have a go, and if you have any comments, feel free to let me know here.
Lack of posts
I’ve just visited the site and noticed I haven’t posted for ages – how time flies – I’ll try and post a couple of mvie reviews later, and some flash related stuff too.
I bet this is the reason . . .
. . . that I don’t have a girlfriend. We were clearing out our linen cupboard and, right at the back, we found this:
I didn’t recognise it at first, but my sister said I used to use it when I went swimming as a kid. Of course I denied it hotly, except . . . I think she may be telling the truth. I don’t have a great memory, and it is starting to become hauntingly familiar . . . . What kind of towel is this to give a young man (well, little boy??) I must be deeply emotionally scarred somehow.
